Bucky Dog August Newsletter

Welcome to our very first Bucky Dog newsletter! Community is at the heart of Bucky Dog, and I'm always looking for new ways to connect people with each other and the wonderful place we call home. This newsletter is a chance to share a little more about what's happening behind the scenes at Bucky Dog, what's going on around Marin, and to celebrate the amazing dogs, walkers, and families who make this community so special.

Personally, this has been such a fun month. We launched two brand-new summer programs—Puppy Camp and Stinson Beach Friday Field Trips (more on those below!)—and I couldn't be happier with how they've turned out.

My daughter Carter, who many of you know, has been home from college for the summer and has been my co-director of Puppy Camp. It's been so much fun working alongside her and seeing all of our college walkers jump in with such enthusiasm. One of my favorite parts of Bucky Dog is watching these young adults grow in confidence, build friendships with one another, and gain experience they'll take with them long after summer ends. It makes me so proud, and I already can't wait to welcome them back next year!

Bucky Dog Was in a Wedding!

A few weekends ago, I had the pleasure of participating in a wedding for one of our new clients!

Taz, their beautiful collie, was the ring bearer in the ceremony and got to walk down the aisle. I had the honor of being Taz’s designated chaperone, making sure he was happy, relaxed, and taken care of before and after his big moment in the ceremony.

This was such a sweet moment as it reminded me of my own wedding where my dog Buck, Bucky Dog’s namesake and inspiration for the business, was also part of the ceremony and walked me down the aisle. Dogs are truly such special, intuitive creatures and I was overjoyed to participate in this very special day!

Welcome to Our July Pack Members!

As some of you may have seen, we’ve started a tradition of welcoming all of the new pups who joined our pack with a commemorative Instagram post. This month, we are so excited to welcome a new crop of amazing doggies who joined us in July.

Stinson Beach Fridays & Puppy Camp

After I sent this newsletter saying that Stinson Beach Fridays and Puppy Camp were retired for the summer, I got a flood of messages asking for more! So I’m over the moon to say that these programs have officially been extended through August 2026.

These two summer programs exceeded every expectation I had. The puppies learned to socialize, built confidence, made new friends, and went home happily exhausted after mornings full of play. Our Stinson Beach crew returned happy and exhausted (in the best way) every Friday and I got many messages saying the pups were tuckered out all weekend.

One of our college crew, Colby Schneckenberger is a very talented photographer and captured some incredible shots of both programs! See his work for our Stinson Beach trips here and Puppy Camp here!

Seeing how much joy these programs brought—to the dogs, our walkers, and all of you—has inspired me to keep dreaming up new adventures for the pack. Our classic walks aren't going anywhere, but I'm excited to continue creating fun, seasonal experiences that make life even better for our pups.

If there's ever a program, outing, or idea you'd love to see us offer, we are all ears!

Thanks, as always, for being part of the Bucky Dog pack. I'm so grateful you're here.

Until next month,

Paige 🐾
